Rally is a fun spin on traditional obedience for both the dog and the handler. Rally is a sport in which all dogs are encouraged to participate. Purebred or mixed breed, every dog can learn the fundamentals for Rally. Dogs must have strong heeling skills to take this course. In rally an enthusiastic attitude and wagging tail are as important as precision. In fact, handlers are not only allowed to, but encouraged to positively reinforce their dogs during the competition with verbal praise, petting and even food rewards! Dogs and handlers should both appear to be enjoying the work and each other's company. No retractable leashes allowed.
